This page is for one specific reader: somebody who booked a visit, has come back to check the details, and has found this section switched off. The short answer is that your place is recorded and nothing about it has been thrown away.
A booking is a record with a reference on it, and it says which visit, which date, which place, and who is expected. Switching a part of this site off suspends the pages and the ability to make new bookings; it does not delete anything and it does not change what anybody was told. When the section comes back, the same bookings are there under the same references.
The host has their own copy as well. The list a guide reads out at the gate is the same list, so it does not depend on this website being reachable on the morning of the visit.
If you know your reference — it is the short code beginning BK- from your confirmation — write to [email protected] and quote it, together with the name of the place and the date. That is enough to find the booking and to tell you whether it still stands.
If you cannot find the reference, the name of the place and roughly when you booked are usually enough. Nobody is going to be turned away for having lost a code.
Ask by e-mail and it will be done for you. A host can always release a place regardless of any deadline, so being unable to reach the usual page is not a reason to be stuck with a visit you cannot make. Please say so as early as you can — a small producer who knows on Thursday can give the place to somebody else, and one who finds out on Saturday cannot.
New bookings are not being taken on this site while the section is off, but the visits themselves have not stopped. Write with the place and the rough date you had in mind and we will put you in touch with whoever runs it.
