In 2021, with pandemic restrictions still in force, TraciaLand's public presence moved to the diaspora: TraciaLand Deutschland marked Romania's National Day with a flash mob in Frankfurt am Main.
In 2021 TraciaLand's public activity ran through its German branch. On Sunday 5 December, from 12:00, the European Association TraciaLand Deutschland invited Romanians in Frankfurt am Main to a flash mob for Romania's National Day: singing the national anthem together on the city's bridge of love locks and hanging a padlock reading "ROMÂNIA ESTE PATRIA MEA" (Romania is my homeland), the way couples lock their names there so they are never parted.
The format was chosen to fit the COVID-19 rules of the moment: outdoors, short, and open to anyone who wanted to come. "Wherever we are in the world, on 1 December let us come home in spirit," the invitation read. Ziarul Românesc in Germany published it on 3 December 2021.
Organised by the European Association TraciaLand Deutschland on the Sunday after 1 December: the national anthem sung together on Frankfurt's bridge of love locks, and a padlock reading "ROMÂNIA ESTE PATRIA MEA" left on it as a sign of attachment to the country. Held outdoors, to respect the restrictions in force.
