In 2022, TraciaLand Deutschland brought the Mărțișor tradition to Frankfurt am Main: the thirteenth edition of an event the association had already held twelve times in Italy.
On Saturday 5 March 2022, at 17:00, TraciaLand Deutschland held "Bun-venit, primăvară cu Mărțișor" (Welcome, spring, with Mărțișor) in Frankfurt am Main, the thirteenth edition of the event after twelve in Italy. With COVID-19 rules still in place, it took the form of a happy hour with women of different nationalities, to present the Romanian tradition: small hand-made tokens on a red and white string, the red for the spring that begins and the white for the winter that ends, on the UNESCO list of intangible heritage since 2017.
The mărțișoare of this edition were made by Elza Ilina, who discovered tapestry at fourteen and has been sewing authentic Romanian blouses since sixteen under the name "Elza Bijuterii Rupte din ii". The evening was initiated by Monica Irimia together with Elena Anghel, president of TraciaLand Deutschland, and hosted and sponsored by Rightnow-Bau GmbH.
The association's thirteenth Mărțișor evening and its first in Germany: a happy hour with women of different nationalities, mărțișoare by Elza Ilina, and the story of the red and white string told to a new public.
