TraciaLand, a platform aimed at tourism operators and holders of locally registered traditional product brands from the Balkans who want to promote their services internationally, was launched on Saturday at the EuropaNova Romanian bookshop in Brussels, during the first edition of the Festival of Languages, Cultures and Spiritualities of Central, Eastern and Balkan Europe, dedicated this year to the Romanian language.

TraciaLand, a platform aimed at tourism operators and holders of locally registered traditional product brands from the Balkans who want to promote their services internationally, was launched on Saturday at the EuropaNova Romanian bookshop in Brussels, during the first edition of the Festival of Languages, Cultures and Spiritualities of Central, Eastern and Balkan Europe, dedicated this year to the Romanian language.

"I am delighted to be invited here, to this event. It is encouraging that Romania is presenting its culture, spirituality, heritage and, why not, food today, because that represents a tourism resource. The EU is pleased to protect diversity and our role is to finance projects in the field of cultural itineraries. Romania is a new Member State and there is a major opportunity in accessing EU funds. My wish is that this will be only a first step for Romania in bringing its traditional food products into the European cultural field. Tourism can be a driver of economic recovery and jobs can multiply in this area", said Giulia Garofalo, project officer within the Unit for Tourism and Cultural Instruments of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry.
